Tenants’ Rights of First Refusal – the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 (as amended)

Peta Dollar and Sarah Thompson-Copsey are well-known experts on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and have published two books on the subject.  This webinar, in the form of an informal discussion between Peta and Sarah, will focus on some of the most tricky areas of the Act that come up again and again and cause problems for practitioners and their clients.

The webinar will cover:

*   The background to the 87 Landlord and Tenant Act and how Peta and Sarah got involved in it
*   A brief outline of the Act and what it requires of a landlord
*   A brief outline of the Act from the tenant point of view
*   A discussion of common practical problems with the Act and potential solutions, including corporate transactions, the effect of the landlord entering into an overriding agreement for lease, building flats on rooftops, auction sale issues, etc.
