The Environment Act 2021 and Development

The planning professions and the development industry are now gearing up to come to terms with the Environment Act 2021, including, in particular, the provisions relating to ‘biodiversity net gain’.  It is imperative that those involved in the planning process start to put systems in place as a matter of some urgency; otherwise, they will face considerable difficulties when these provisions of the Act are triggered.  The starting point is, of course, to seek to understand the Act and this webinar will provide an overview of some of the key points.  This course is aimed at planning officers, local authority lawyers and developers.  The webinar will include:

  • An overview of the Environment Act 2021.
  • The statutory requirement for biodiversity net gain.
  • The role of the Biodiversity Metric.
  • Ways in which the biodiversity net gain requirement may be incorporated into site-specific planning applications.

Thanks to our specialist systems, we are able to provide you with recordings and course materials which allow you to refer back to your training at any time should you wish to do so. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the live webinar these facilities mean that you don’t have to worry about missing out and you can go about your day, reassured by the knowledge that you can carry out your required training at a time convenient to you.

A certificate of completion is also provided for delegates booking this event.

This webinar is free of charge, however registration is required.
