Back to Basics – Post Completion for Support Staff

In this two part series, IQ Legal Training and Maria Hardy of PCC Education Hub will explore the fundamental basics of post-completion: how to submit accurate applications and how to avoid requisitions.

Understanding what is needed in order to register a transaction successfully with HM Land Registry is a key requirement to the conveyancing process. This course will allow delegates to review a title register, interpret the common entries revealed, alongside reviewing documentation needed to register a new transaction correctly and with minimum requisitions.

This course is ideal for a candidate looking to enhance their basic post-completion knowledge or someone who has recently entered the conveyancing profession.

Session 1- 02.09.25 – 1:30 pm – 2:30  pm – How to submit accurate applications:

In this session, we will conduct a review of a title register and a hypothetical new transaction affecting that title, to reveal what documents need to be submitted to HM Land Registry for correct registration. Within this review, we will discuss:

  • The current entries affecting the title register.
  • What documents are needed to register the new transaction and how they should be completed.
  • Different types of joint ownership (joint tenants/tenants in common).

Session 2 – 10.09.25 – 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Avoiding common requisitions:

  • We will review HM Land Registry’s most frequently raised avoidable requisitions and how to spot these prior to submission in light of the new validation rules that are due to come into effect in Autumn 2025.
  • How to complete HM Land Registry application forms (AP1, FR1, RX1 and RX2) correctly.
  • Overview of restrictions. We will discuss complying with, withdrawing and cancelling restrictions.
