Councillor Training for Planning Committees

Tom Graham, barrister and senior IQ Legal trainer, presents a new three-part webinar series on councillor training for planning committees drawing upon his considerable experience of advising committees and training councillors. The course takes place in one-hour sessions over three consecutive days and is appropriate for all new members of a planning committee, substitute members and individuals prior to serving on a committee.

• Public speakers
• Site visits

Throughout the course, Tom will cover essential information concerning the planning process and code of practice, including; national policy and guidance; the role of the Chairman; interest, bias and predetermination; The Localism Act 2011; councillor codes of conduct; the rules of debate and material planning conditions.
