This is an introductory webinar with Ian Quayle for staff new to commercial property and will examine the operation and the application of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

It will explore:

• How to contract out of the 1954 Act. and the implications of security of tenure
• Negotiation tactics for landlords and tenants
• Timing issues for service of notices and issue of proceedings
• Things to look out for when negotiating a new lease – an overview

It will examine recent relevant case law and will explore the role of the local authority lawyer.

Extensive notes will be provided and there will be an opportunity for delegate questions.
